Oliver August is the Africa Editor of The Economist magazine. He previously reported from China, America and the Middle East. His writing has also appeared in The Times of London, Wired magazine, Marie Claire, U.S. News & World Report, the L.A. Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and the Washington Post. He is the author of two books, "Inside the Red Mansion: On the trail of China's most wanted man" and "Along the wall and watchtower: A journey down Germany's divide".
